PROJECT :: LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Introduction:
Managing a bookstore and an associated library has its own complexities. The Books package is a complete solution to manage and monitor all such activities. The package can be used both by large Book Stores to purchase, store and issue books to other sub stores and by a Library to maintain a book store and issue books to its members. The ten modules of the package have been designed keeping in mind the importance, ease of use and complexity of each of the work area.

Major Modules:
Some of these modules are - Stock, Purchase/Receive/Return, Book Issue/Return and Damaged/Missing/Lost Book Management. The other modules include Member details, Supplier details etc. From the list of modules it might be quite clear that the package covers virtually all aspects of a general Book Store or a Library. Any other functionality if required can be easily built into it.

The process begins with the purchase of books. Placing a Purchase Order is much faster. Not only that the user is now capable of comparing the previous orders at the touch of a button. The stock is automatically updated upon receiving the order and also updated on subsequent issue.

The part, which deals with the Library, has all the general functions a standard library. It starts with member registrations followed by book issue and return. The package produces a report of defaulters who fail to return even after the extended period of time. Detailed reports of Damaged/Missing/Lost books are also produced.
